Operating Procedures

1. Run-In: Lower the packer with the by-pass valve open to permit unrestricted fluid circulation through and around the tool. Run approximately 1 ft below the target setting depth.
2. Positioning: Pick up the tubing string to the exact setting depth.
3. Engagement: Rotate the tubing string to the right and apply set-down weight. This moves the J-pin clear of the J-slot and drives the cone under the slips.
4. Packing Off: Apply the required set-down weight to close the bypass valve, set the upper/lower slips, and fully energize the packing element assembly:
   • 4-1/2″ – 5-1/2″: 7,000 lbs
   • 5-1/2″ x 2-7/8″: 5,000 lbs
   • 7″: 9,000 lbs
   • 8-5/8″: 11,000 lbs
   • 9-5/8″: 15,000 lbs

1. Unseating: Straight pick-up of the tubing string opens the internal by-pass valve, allowing fluid and pressure to equalize across the tool.
2. Resetting to Running Position: Raising the tubing full-length pulls the slips off the casing wall and engages the J-pin back into the running slot automatically.
3. POOH / Reposition: Once unseated, the packer can be safely repositioned higher up the wellbore or pulled to surface with open circulation.
